BEDROOM SUITE
The bedroom is not just a little room with a bed, it is a suite with lounging area and desk with a connecting door (opens) to the bathroom. Here it is at Halloween time.
On the one side is an open closet (a beautiful Barbie wardrobe, very popular with collectors because it is a perfect size and it was fairly cheap - I have three of them...). The dress form is IT. Brian made the bed and night stands. I made the quilt (which explains why not all squares are square or straight) and pillows. My mother knitted the red throw blanket. The painting over the bed is a miniature of a painting that hangs in our own bedroom.
At some point I took a loom beading class at our local art store. I beaded some pillows and a large wall hanging that now hangs in the stairway opening.
The chairs and rug are by IT. Brian built the pallet coffee table and huge book/display case. Books are scanned from our own book covers and made smaller, TV is a friend's Garmin that died. The plant is an aquarium plant in a votive holder with cat litter and glue.
The desk and hutch are of course made by Brian. The chair is another wonderful gift from Sandra, Dutch people will recognize the Ahrend Revolt chair. The Barbie cases and figures are Hallmark ornaments, but the paper structures on top and top shelf are made by Rogier in The Netherlands. A lot of the little stuff is Re-Ment.
From the bedroom you get into the bathroom, with sink, bath and toilet by Mattel. Brian built the shower stall with hardware from a Barbie set (door really opens). The towel rack and mirror are made by Brian, and the glass piece on the left over the bath I made in a glass class. The hummingbird piece is a souvenir from one of Brian's travels.
For Dutch people: note the Page toilet paper, a mini from Albert Heijn. Unfortunately it got lost when we moved to Florida, and I would so much want to have one again.
